Dad Tip of the Day: Happiness

Dad Tip of the Day: Teach and show your kids how to have a happy spirit.

 

The genuine laugh of a child is a moment that is not soon forgotten.  Like any human, kids will have highs and lows, but a kid with a happy and content spirit radiates an excitement and joy that is contagious. 


As parents, we need to be happy and content in life as our kids will pick up on that – some may call it having “high vibes”.  Aside from modeling happiness, there are ways you can train kids to be happy in their everyday life. - Laughing: It releases feel good hormones and reduces stress

- Exercising: It encourages physical and mental well being

- Celebrate their strengths: Give them encouragement as they figure out what they are good at

- Read together: Quality time makes all the difference

- Physical touch: Hugging and playful wrestling make a child feel special

 

I would say my kids are happy, but I think it is important to continue tohelp them gain a happy and healthy state of mind and being…. So I will keep at it!
