I learned about the law of attraction in August of 2015. When I first started this journey, I, like everyone else, intensely focused on doing. In fact, I fought against myself. Hard. I was under the belief that fighting against myself and pushing myself really, really hard was how you got anything in this world and were of any worth and value. Imagine how exhausting and self defeating.

After much ado I was *finally* able to give up and surrender. This was big for me. I was able to relax. In my quest for "allowing," I became quite passive. Slowly but surely I started becoming more subtle and tapping into source. Surrender felt better than overwhelment for sure. But I had been sort of just waiting around.

There was a major key missing. It came to me one day when one of the first things I heard in my mind when I woke up was "Write down how much money you need, and by which dates." And I declared, "No, absolutely not. That's terrifying." I had been "just leaving it up to the universe," trusting, but not *actually* trusting. What it was really about was fear. What it was really about was a complete sense of powerlessness around money. And just like that, I saw it clearly right in front of my eyes. I must write down the upcoming financial necessities.

I stared at that paper, and clicks just started going off in my mind. I had to be proactive. I had to really take action to get that money. But not in the old fighting myself way, no. I had the tools now. I knew how to *use* the universe and be in alignment with it. I knew how to work *with* myself and to follow guidance. And now I would be strong and decisive about what needed to happen. I would be bold knowing that the powers that create worlds are at my fingertips, and I can tap into them and direct that energy where I want to.
The universe and I are *partners*. There's a balance between surrender and action. There's a balance between intention and trust. The universe knows what I want. Everything's working out for me. After you're on this journey for long enough, you know this from proof. When circumstances start to look scary, I trust my partner and their plan. I proactively follow with the course of action appropriate for the circumstances that are laid out before me. I know that if I will just be proactive and take *aligned* action, that everything will turn out magnificently.
We are the *directors* of energy. We must be decisive and **own** the power of the universe that's at our fingertips.

For the pendulum to swing all the way to passivity is necessary. Because taking action from the original physically focused action place is unaligned, unhealthy, unsustainable. To be potent and powerful creators, we must learn the nuances of both. Allowing and Proactivity. There's a time for both. Being proactive. Listening. Following. Being the director of energy.
