Day 1: Australia to Bali permaculture farm

Hey steemers,
It's steaming hot here in ubud, Bali.... The humidity is absolutely through the roof.
Somehow I still manage to consume bulk coffee and do work on the farm.

I was greeted by the owner of the farm at the airport and we headed to the farm... First stopping at a locals only area for lunch.

We then headed through the jungle like scenery destined for the permanent agriculture farm. Kadek was a super friendly driver teaching me some history along the way.
We arrived, parked the car and had to walk a few minutes to reach the farm. He looked at me smiled and said "welcome to the jungle."

After a welcoming involving the touching of strangers hands and some breath work, which was acctualy nice I began to explore the garden.

*The very simple but effective propagation / nursery area provided seedlings with a real chance at life*

Behind this area was a pond containing fish that is used to water the plants. Fish waste provides a broad spectrum of valuable plant nutrients. The water is captured off the nursery roof.

The farm was built on an old rice field, very water logged clay soil but they make it work.
We then slashed some grass, pulled some weeds and began to make what they call a banana circle.

The tools were half broken and barely working but everyone just chipped in and got the job done.
