VCV Rack - Frozen Wasteland's BPM LFO Module
Learn how to use Frozen Wasteland's BMP LFO module for VCV Rack.

#### What Will I Learn?

- You will learn the function of Frozen Wasteland's BMP LFO module
- You will learn how to control the Clock input with a clock trigger or momentary button
- You will learn how to manipulate the hold input
- You will learn the relationship between the Hold input and Pause, Free, Gate, and Mom
- You will learn how to read and control the frequency division operation

To complete this tutorial learners will need to have the following:
- VCV Rack installed
- Frozen Wasteland module pack installed

# Learn the function of Frozen Wasteland's BMP LFO module

BMP LFO is a great Open Source LFO module. It gives us a number of features that are not found on any other LFO. These features can be used to manipulate the output frequency and enable a sample and hold functionality which is very customizable. 



# Learn how to control the Clock input with a clock trigger or momentary button

BMP LFO is an low frequency oscillator. So it outputs various waveforms at specific frequencies. The frequency can be set by using an external clock connected to the Clock input.

# Learn how to manipulate the hold input

The Hold input comes from a gate or trigger. Hold freezes the frequency of the LFO at that moment and continues to play that specific frequency.

# Learn the relationship between the Hold input and Pause, Free, Gate, and Mom

The Gate/Mom switch changes the function of the hold from a momentary input to a gated input. A gate stays open upon receiving a signal and will stay open until a second signal is received. A momentary will stay open as long as a signal is being received and once the signal stops it closes.

Pause/Free is connected to Hold and the Gate/Mom switch. In the Pause position when Hold is enabled the LFO will pause the wave cycle at that moment in time, play the associated frequency and will not resume the cycle until Hold is released. In the Free position the frequency will be held until Hold is released but the wave cycle will continue on. When Hold is released the LFO will continue to output the frequency associated with the ongoing position of the cycle

# Learn how to read and control the frequency division operation

At the top of the BPM LFO interface is a display showing Division. 


BPM LFO alters the frequency of the LFO by taking the math indicated in the Division window and applying it to the input clock tempo.

The dial on the right alters the math that is to be applied to the incoming clock control voltage. The input in the centre is for an external LFO control voltage. This CV will control the math. The dial on the left controls the amount of control voltage is applied to the math selection.
