Yes, this is true, the previous technologies of earthlings were not the same.

Corporations are evil.  What kind of structure do we allow to exist, that socializes all the liabilities and individualizes all the profits?  What comes from this is that the worst, the most evil, the most polluting corporations rise to the top.

We are about to enter a time when corporations will rule.  As corporations show the puny govern-cements that they cannot even regulate an entity that is larger, and spread throughout the world.

However, as you have stated here, the laws of nature will prevail.  The chickens will come home to roost.

With the automation of everything comes cheaper robots, and soon, everyone who wants one will have a robot.  And when everyone can make what they want, in their garages, then what need is there for these giant corporations?
