I know, 3 weeks later and I am still going on about my trip with the family to LegoLand - this post though is they day before - and night. It's a good four hour drive down to Windsor so driving down on the day to visit the theme park was not really an option, thanks to a lack of planning the theme park hotels were booked up so I decided to get creative and book somewhere more interesting then your average hotel. Windsor did not have anywhere that suited my needs so I looked further afield to Windsor.



What I found was this [old farm house now being used as a B&B along with little apartments to rent that used to be stables](https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/sheephouse-manor-maidenhead.en-gb.html?label=gen173nr-1FCAEoggI46AdIM1gEaFCIAQGYAQm4AQfIAQ3YAQHoAQH4AQuIAgGoAgM;sid=17b75be5dcb72d84f7066d638200c7a0) the little apartments were perfect with two bedrooms for us all, a nice living room, kitchen and two bathrooms.

After a long drive it was nice to pull into a spacious pebble dashed driveway with plenty of parking space for all the guests.

This is the apartment block, there are three built into this length of what used to be stables.

Inside they are really well furnished, while keeping in with the traditional farmhouse feel.

Back outside there were plenty of quirks, like this ageing log pile.

And some pretty flowers too, most interesting though was the orchard at the far back of buildings.

With a trampoline to play on, that's a thoughtful addition - you wouldn't find that at a Travelodge!

Fortunately the cows in the field opposite were not interested in all our commotion.

The sun started to set while we played

There was some very old farm machinery visible in the distance

There were even a few chickens, who had sensibly hidden in their enclosure

And check this out, a zip wire this accommodation really thought about ways to entertain guests.

This was a popular addition, with everyone having a ride.

Finally the sun set, and made some lovely  colours in the clouds

So we retired to our apartment to cook some food and get some rest. Incredibly this is just 10 miles from LegoLand, so we did not have to leave too early in the morning a 9am start saw us walking through the gates at opening time of 9.30am.
