So I just finished the first game I bought for my Playstation Vita and I was thuroughly surprised how much I enjoyed the experience, especially for the hand held. I Have played a bit of persona 5 but I havent finished a Persona game until the one on the Vita ,mostly because its hard for me to sit still for a long period of time and with the vita I can walk around and play. In total I put in around 50 or so hours and enjoyed almost all of my time in the game.

The set up for the game is that you move to a city in the country side and people start getting murdered and you need to stop them from occurring while also trying to figure out who is committing the crimes. In persona fashion you make friends with various kids in your school and you enter another dimension in order to fight and deal with various monsters. In persona 4 you enter a TV and navigate around dungeons in order to get to the top floor and fight the boss, which most times will then give you another character to play as.

The biggest thing I was wondering if I would like would be the transition from the television to a much smaller handheld, but it turns out I probably enjoyed it more than I did on the big screen. Persona has typical JRPG elements which usually involve grinding so I found that being able to lay down on my bed while watching another streamer or show and mindlessly grind worked very well. Compared to sitting and having to pay attention when doing the grinding on the main tv I liked this alternative. In fact I might think about doing the grinding for other games on the vita via screen sharing in the future.

The characters you meet and end up teaming up with all are fleshed out and have their own personalities. You get to like certain ones and feel more like you are fighting with friends rather than just robots. The dialogue in the game is fantastic and found myself laughing out loud and giggling when certain moments occurred. Part of the persona franchise is about making social bonds so it mixes rpg elements with relationship simulation mechanics and it is just a joy to experience overall.

If you have a Vita or even if you choose to play the PS2 version, I would wholeheartedly recommend persona 4. Im planning on going back to persona 5 soon and finishing my game up there, or I might choose to restart and see everything over again, I havent decided yet. Persona 4 has only made me want to go back to the earlier games and I definitely will in the coming months when my streaming setup comes together.
