Sri lanka face many challenges, drawbacks with in Agri business sector. We can categorize them as follows, drawbacks of agribusinesses in crop production sector, challenges of livestock sector in agribusiness, challenges of technology in agribusiness, drawbacks of agribusiness in the market.

Drawbacks under agribusiness in crop production sector are, affect pest and disease problem. Because of that cultivation may destroyed totally. At present covid 19 pandemics adversely affect for crop production. Because of curfew situation farmers not go for their land and also challenges with provide row material and Agri output transportation.

In agribusiness sector initial investment is high but we cannot forecast the income so some farmers tend to suicide. Challenges under the livestock sector are, low price for milk because of that dairy farmer has low profit margin. For example, row milk purchase from farmers at Rs. 60-75 rupees but retail price is Rs. 200-250.





Attitudes of the young generation, they did not like to involve in Agri culture sector. Lack of veterinary services and extension services and lack of storage facility. Government involvement also low in the agribusiness sector.





Challenges under technology in agribusiness sector are, lack of practical knowledge the farmers, cos of maintain is high, due to over use of machines may lead to environmental damages, most of the farmers are illiterates so they are unable to use the modern machines.

Drawbacks of agribusiness in the market are, quality of the product is low, low technology on product, poor management in market. Challenges of Agribusiness sector regarding consumption of products are, climatic changes due to adverse climatic condition affect for the crop and livestock production reduce the total output of the agribusiness sector.



Financial limit, low quality of food, food wasting, lack of market-oriented products food wasting are other challenges in the Sri lanka agribusiness sector.
