My Dear Marilyn

<p>&nbsp;I wrote this song about a girl I knew a few years ago. Marilyn wasn't her real name but at the time she loved Marilyn Monroe.&nbsp;I remember going to work that day training actually for a new job. not expecting anything different and then when she walked in time stood still the background blurred out and there was only her I remember her eyes were so&nbsp;big and so incredibly beautiful......I knew in that moment she was the one I would spend forever with&nbsp;there was no doubt. as time went on we talked but turned out her friend liked me.....and out of respect for her Marilyn decided it would be best if we were not together......I always told her I would never forget her and I tried to convince her that we should be together&nbsp;but honestly it just wasn't the right time. took me forever to see the faults in both of us.......I was so selfish I wanted her to be happy but with me. you know? no one else......and she was young she needed time to find who she was........if she was here now I wouldn't tell her to be with me just simply tell her to be happy and apologize for not asking her what she wanted.....took me years to get where I wasn't thinking of her everyday.....I thought I was good and not thinking of her like that........and six years later I am working and this little girl comes into work and looks up at me with these beautiful big bright eyes. of course It wasn't Marilyn but it made me buckle at the thought she reminds me so much of her........and that's what the song is about.</p>
