No Crystal in the Palace - What Should we Expect From Crystal Palace Next Season

As usual, the fun continues as we anticipated, continuing from where we stopped yesterday… This we will be looking at another mid-table premier league side. If you took notice, you will realize that I kicked off this whole series with the top teams first in each of the 5 top leagues in Europe. Now we are focusing on the mid-table sides, with careful attention to teams that have almost a 100 percent chance of securing their stay for next season. Like I’ve always done in this series, my last post, was about Burnley and what we should expect from them next season, so if you haven’t seen it, you can do well to check it out. Today, we will be continuing with another premier league team Crystal Palace, a team that isn’t here or there, as they have been almost a mediocre team for quite some time, even though sometimes, they could be a really tough team to play against.

Even though Crystal Palace has always been a regular as a mid-table side in the premier league, they are actually a very good team on their day and a very difficult team to play against – the top 6 teams can attest to that. However, this season hasn’t been great for them and their last 3 premier league games before this whole coronavirus problems have been terrible as they have lost their last 3 matches in a row. The good news for them is that they are just 1 point behind Arsenal and 2 points adrift of Spurs which is great for them as they still have time to compete in the top 8 spots.

We all know Crystal Palace and what they can do on their day, which makes them of the strongest mid-table teams in the premier league. They have some really quality players like Zaha who has remained their best player for few seasons running now. Even though they haven’t been good for the most part this season, [they](https://scorum.com/en-us/football/@chimzysports/what-should-we-expect-from-crystal-palace-next-season) are still in a very good position to finish the season on a strong note. Based on some of the quality performances this season, a few talking points have been raised concerning them and what we should expect from them next season.

For me, I expect more from them next season, we all can agree that they have been mostly poor so far this season, but we will give them the benefit of the doubt as most of the other teams have been really poor as well. However, next season will be very different as most teams will be upping their game and the competition next season will most likely be very high.

I expect them to keep most of their key players like Zaha even though he has been linked to a number of top clubs, he will most likely be staying at Crystal Palace at least for next season. With their key players most likely to stay, and with the addition of a few players to the squad, I think Crystal Palace will be good next season and as usual, remain a very difficult team to play against. Whether they will be able to finish above the premier league table next season is still a probability, but one thing is very much certain, they will most likely be in and around the centre of the premier league table.
