How to Tell Yourself You Could Have Done Better With Yourself
Tell yourself you could have done better. It sounds a little odd but it is actually one of the most useful self-help tools I know. The reason why is because it reminds us that we are not perfect and that we can improve. In this way, it reminds us to stay focused on our goals and ambitions. This in turn, will help us to be more persistent in pursuing our chosen career.

So many people tell themselves they could have done better. They think to themselves that they will just get out there and try again, or they will leave it all alone and try again. But what they do not realise is that every time they leave it alone, it gets worse. In fact, it only gets worse until it reaches a point where it becomes impossible for them to do anything about it.

This, however, should not be the case. It is possible to start to see improvements the second you make an effort. It is also possible to get to a point where you are so far ahead that there is no way things can go from here. It is up to you to find out how far you have come.

When I was first working towards a goal, I tried so hard to make myself believe that I would go through it without any problem at all. This made me very tired and made it much more difficult for me. Then one day I noticed that I was starting to slip up. Even when I tried my best, I was not able to overcome the obstacles that were in front of me. At that moment I realised that I could have done better.

If you are going to slip up, then you need to identify the cause. What did I do wrong? Was I not working hard enough? Did I not put enough effort into the task at hand?

When I am faced with obstacles, I always try to identify the cause of them. I ask myself if I was working hard enough? Did I put in enough hours for this goal? Was I not persistent enough? Did I give up too soon? These are some of the questions that I ask myself and from there, I can work on my actions to overcome my obstacles.

You should also not let these setbacks discourage you. If you keep your head up high and your spirits high, then you can overcome anything that comes your way. You should know that setbacks are a part of life and part of being successful. Just continue pushing forward. Make sure that the one thing that is holding you back is you.

Set a goal, stick with it and then go for it. There is no reason why you cannot become the person that you have always dreamed of being. Have fun doing it!

Also, be honest with yourself. You might not be perfect but there is no one else out there that has the same background, the same talent and the same drive that you do. So no matter what you might feel is holding you back from achieving success, keep reminding yourself of who you are. Do not compare yourself to others because in the end, you are always unique. We all deserve a good mentor who can teach us what we need to know to be a better person. So do not stop pursuing your dreams.

Be optimistic. Having a positive attitude goes a long way. And when you are down in the dumps, you need to think positive. Think about the successes that you have had and continue encouraging yourself. Remembering all of your great achievements will surely lift your spirits.

Be realistic as well. You would probably encounter many roadblocks on your journey. And while each of these obstacles may be more than you can handle, it would be far better to focus on one roadblock at a time and conquer it instead of trying to conquer everything at once.
