Can't say I ever did the online dating thing - even though I love IT, it was always a little too "new age" for me.
But then, on the other hand, my mom and sister both met their husbands though online dating!! :)

Actually I was going to be single forever till my wife came along when I wasn't looking. Happily tramping around the world with backpack and nothing else.
 It rains girls in Panama and the old man had no problem  getting hooked up whenever the need arose :-). But that was going to be it for life.
 Now I'm married, bought land built a house Blah Blah Blah But life is good.
So maybe what I'm trying to say is, When you least expect or even want it. Will probably be when it happens, Mr. Right ! All quite naturaly. Maybe not LOL
 You seem like a sweet girl and looking forward to meeting you some day. My door is always open and we have a spare room :-)
 I don't do match making, but do know lots of people :-) It's party after party in the interior, and your sure to get some local attention ( Wanted or unwanted ) LOL
 But I'd be there to watch your back, and send them packing on cue :-)

Lol *shagging some chick off the internet* is such a Scottish term it genuinely made me lol!

I got catfished once.  The woman used multiple photos, and we talked for months on the phone.  We chatted online on computers too.  Imagine my surprise when we first met, and she wasn't who she made herself out to be?  

Now people would be wise to have live video, or assume it's all a lie.  Back when I met the woman in my situation though, smart phones and webcams were not really a thing yet.  It's a lot easier to be sure these days!

When I was single and looking to marry and have children, I tried match.com.  What a joke that was.  The women just wanted to be wined and dined.  No one wanted a serious relationship.  Then I found eHarmony.  It matched me to some wonderful women, but they were all 39+ years old when I was 34.

My goal was to have children too, so being matched to older ladies was of no help to me.

Eventually, for the hell of it, I tried catholicmatch.com.  That's where I met my wife.  This September we will be married for ten years.  We met online through the site on August 4th, the next weekend we met, and by the end of August she had moved in with me.

We were married September 1st of the same year.  Yes, it was fast.  Neither of us had lied, we were who we said we were, and we wanted the same things in life.  Sometimes, you really do find what you're looking for, and you don't have to wait to bump heads in the produce department either.

P.S. I've never been on Tinder, but I've heard horror stories from it.  It didn't exist when I would have been using it anyway.  You telling guys you were bored made me crack up though, for I would have immediately swiped you away.  It's my job to entertain you?  Pfft.  ;-)

I met my other half on a dating site. 13 years later we are still together with 2 beautiful children.

Even as a millennial, I could never get into hooking up on Tinder. I ended up finding my wife on Interpals, which is more about language learning rather than dating.

I was never single since tinder has been around, if I was I feel like i would have been a big tinder user back in the day but then with everything the novelty wears off! 
You should try some other kind of dating app/site and review that for us too!!! :) or re-install tinder just to message the vegan guy who you thought might be the one who got away!

Great Post @choogirl, but unfortunately showing the sad truth of the superficiality of todays society... In my opinion people rarely really connect to each other these days anymore...

This is such a good post! I have always wondered what tinder stories girls would have. did you feel a little upset after getting ghosted by #4?

If you have ridiculous qualifications of what it means to be a decent guy, you will always end up with shit guys or none. 

Your list for requirements seems normal at first then you started saying you will swipe left on anyone that even has a girl in their pictures without a big disclaimer that it's their sister. 

So you want someone cool, but at the same time they have to be complete dorks and never hang out with women. 

Almost seems like you are asking for a Playboy type man that just gives up all other women the second he sees you. Unrealistic.
