***We live in an instant gratification society.  We live in a society immersed in dreams, in virtual reality, in digital drama and endless speculation.
Silicon Valley is the purveyor of a lot of these hallucinations in more than one sense.  Not only do they literally provide the bytes, digits, devices and software to make our endless electronic pursuits a reality, but they also have some CEOs that serve up some whoppers on the daydreamer scale!***

Consider the following:
·        Tesla CEO Elon Musk so cocky and serious about setting up a colony ,,, on Mars?!?!
 
·        Facebook boy genius Mark Zuckerberg’s plan to attempt to “cure, prevent and manage” all diseases in a single generation?!?!
 
·        Amazon’s Jeff Besos to reconstruct and monetize the entire U.S. healthcare system ?!?!
 
They sure like to play romper room God and backyard Zeus almighty, don’t they?

The internet is full of crash and burn websites, our phones full of apps collecting digital dust, and so many gadgets of tomorrow have never quite materialized.  And on a heart-breaking scale, the more the NSA snoopers snoop and the military hegemons develop super-human war gadgets, the more the U.S. falls prey to its own fallability and impotence in world affairs.

Instead of being slaves to our gadgets and the hokey and grandiose dreams of our child-like e-prodigies, let’s ponder how all this technology can actually be good for things HERE and NOW.  Like priority #1, empowering people through decentralized means to take control and exert influence in their local neighborhoods, schools, and political systems.  This means more locally determined routes for education, financial management, and authentic, non-corporatized communication. Community decentralization is a dream just like building a colony on mars, a dream not a hallucination to be clear.
I personally belive that everyone has the right to chase his dream as long as he doesn’t harm anyone on his way and not spoiling public resources.

human endeavor is always propelled by imagination and ambition. there is no getting around that fact. it is just that today, we have been reduced to watching achievements rather than being part of them. big companies have a lot to do with this aspect. that is why there is a hunger for good leaders and consequently a shortage of them as well.

collective effort should distribute wealth, ambition and hence achievement as well. communities without geo boundaries are very powerful. maybe as steem goes, so will the rest of the blockchains and hence the world as well

We are slaves to our phones and big companies sell these phones and therefore in short we are slaves to these companies. 

These big corporations such as mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos will want to create some sort of legacy, but colonising mars? I mean it’s a nice and fancy story but whilst he is still alive musk won’t be able to do something like that.
