SmartContainers is making containers that use IoT and blockchain technology. This lets companies track containers and record data related to them. The containers offer a precision cold-storage and that makes them ideal for medicine and food transport. This is the first attempt at making technology that takes the ability of a container reach the benefits of new technology.

# Whether to Invest

At $40M, SmartContainers does not have a friendly hard cap. Could this hard cap be justifiable since the company wants to make a new operation into food transport, a lot of new containers, and also create a blockchain integration? That's a lot to achieve but $40M is a lot of money. As much as $10M worth of tokens will not be sold and these tokens won’t be burned. 


**The Good Part**
Most of the token metrics are not tempting, but the good part is that the publicly declared information shows bonuses were capped at around 30%. That’s relatively decent considering the plunge in ETH price. All private deals have a lock-up so there shouldn’t be any major sell walls in the early trading and that may give the token some foundation. 

# Verdict

Given the high circulating supply and the high hard cap, this is not a good flip. Blockchain being used in containers is an experimental concept. An investment in new technology in any major industry could potentially be a good opportunity. SmartContainers has existed for several years so if it is going to succeed at this blockchain integration, progress should be visible in the mid-term. Again, that means this won't be a flip. The best potential for returns is in the mid-term since if the integration works, the tokens will pump. After that competitors are likely to develop something similar and that could make the long-term hold too speculative.
