No, I'm not talking about an alcoholic beverage ...

 ... or a scantily-dressed young woman.

That would be [hooch](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hooch) or a [hoochie](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hoochie), respectively.

What I'm talking about is a [hootchie](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hootchie) (notice the letter 't') which, according to [wiktionary](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hoochie) is:

 _"a shelter traditionally used by soldiers (especially Australian) in the field, consisting of a **[tarpaulin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarpaulin)** normally suspended at waist height between two or more trees with cord or specifically Hootchie cord."_

So from [hootchie](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hootchie) we get [tarpaulin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarpaulin), and from [tarpaulin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarpaulin) we arrive at [tarp](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarp).

A blue one in this case.

Anyways, on last weekend's visit to [Camp Evans,](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Evans_Historic_District) I spent quite a bit of time wandering around the property in search of the rare and elusive [Dymaxion Deployment Units](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymaxion_deployment_unit) designed by [Richard Buckminster Fuller.](https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Buckminster_Fuller)

As cool as Camp Evans is, and taking into account all the great work being done by the many volunteers from [InfoAge, ](http://infoage.org/) there is still a LOT of renovation/preservation efforts that need to be done at this converted military base.

Shortly after arriving, I kept noticing what looked to me like bits of stringy blue confetti on the ground. You can get a glimpse of it if you carefully examine the next two photos.

At first I just ignored it and proceeded snapping photos.

But the continual sight of it kept bringing it back into my train of thought.

I mentioned it to my wife and she initially said she had no idea what it was.

We kept seeing it ...

I little while later, after I came back from a mini junket of photo taking, my wife proclaimed:

<center>_"I know what the blue confetti is"._</center>

She then pointed across the way to the roof of a dilapidated military building.

And there is was, plain as day -- the continually disintegrating remnants of a giant blue tarp that was likely put on the roof of the building many years ago to prevent the influx of rain water.

Mystery solved!!!
