If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.   When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory. Colosians 3:1-3

Those who see the earth to be their abode and final destination in life only think earthly. All they think about is how to store up treasures on earth and give comfort to their body while they are alive. 

To such folks life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest and that life ends when you die. They engage themselves in all kinds of sins which is seen to be normal in our world today. 

Christians are admonished to keep a heavenly focus. We are not live our life like wordly folks. Our focus should be in heaven where our saviour is. 

We have been have died to sin and are no more in bondage to things of the world. 
Christians have been raised with Christ to new life in a higher world, a place where great treaures that last forever are prepared for us. 

There is nothing here on earth to be compared to the things stored up for us in heaven. 
Therefore our thoughts should be occupied about the things where Christ now dwells, where our final home is to be, where our great interests are. 

We should not think about the things of this world that is passing away, the great object of our contemplation should be the heavenly world. 

All the thibgs of this world that people value so much like wealth, honor, pleasure, houses, fashion will all pass away. Christians cannot focus on those things neither can they build their hopes in them.  

Our affections should  be fixed on the glory, honour and eternal treasures in heacen where Christ is seated.
