But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.  Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.  Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.  Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.   Therefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.1 Corinthians 10:5-12

The scripture above gives an account of how the nation of Isreal whom Moses brought out of Egypt live their lives. God was not pleased with many of them who disobeyed and so they died in the wildnerness. 

They were engage in idolatry, fornication, tempted and murmored against God and this brought the wrath of God upon them. The scriptures tells us that these things that happened to them were written to serve as examples so that we will be cautious and not lust after evil things they did. 

I believe we are the luckiest generation, for we have all the accounts of how people walk with God to serve as a guide. 

We have the bible serve as a manual for life, the holy spirit who teaches us to know and understand all things, and the grace of God that has gives us the chance to come before the throne of God without fear or trembling to ask for mercy. 

It is not like they were an unlucky generation for they also got many chances, favours, mercy, grace and above all experienced God's love. 

We are only privilege to have come after them and God thought it wise to let know about their accounts so will not repeat their mistakes. 

We are not so special from them to be treated differently in case we also go against God. We have everything we need to serve God rightly yet our generation is even doing worse things than they did. 

We abuse God's grace thinking that we will escape God's judgment,  we are not so special than them and the same judgement will be metted on us if we should disobey God and miss the mark.
