I went to a street market the other day and saw some beautiful snow globes. I didn’t end up buying one but since I’ve always loved snow globes it gave me an idea – why not try to make one at home?? It would be a fun creative way to pass the time with the kids! 
I took them to the store, each one chose their preferred ornament to place in the globe. My son chose the white dog and my daughter chose the ballerina (surprising!) and went for it! <h2>DIY SPARKLY HOMEMADE SNOWGLOBE recipe:</h2>

<h3>Ingredients:</h3> 
- **Jars with lids** (I went and bought 2 small ones but any clean jars you have at home would be fine- from baby food jars to olive jars). 
- **Any ornament or figurines you wish to put inside** – feel creative here! Just make sure it’s made of plastic/ceramic...etc., and not from a material that would break down in water.
- **Water resistant glue/waterproof silicone** 
- **Craft glue**
- **Sparkles or snow globe snow** (can buy from Amazon or e-bay or to diy click [***HERE***](https://www.thoughtco.com/benzoic-acid-snow-globe-605981).
- **Water**
- **Glycerin** (or glucose)

Decorate your lid (optional):
Glue the sides of the lid and roll it in the glitter or paint it with your preferred colors:

Glue the jar lid in the center and place your decoration. (Since our figurines were short, we glued them to a rock for elevation). It doesn’t have to look perfect, since it will be covered with glitter and water, however, make sure to make room around the edges so that you’ll be able to screw the lid back on and wait for it to dry:

- Mix a few tablespoons of glucose with boiling water and fill up the jar almost to the very top. 
- Sprinkle in your preferred glitter color and mix it with a spoon. 
*To make the glitter float down a bit slower you can add a few tablespoons of glycerin (recommended)or glucose (found in the baking section in supermarkets). I couldn’t find at the time ***glycerin*** so I used ***glucose***. However, after a few experiments with it, since it’s a very thick substance, I ended up using boiling water to make it dissolve. Glycerin is usually recommended as it has a more oily texture to it. 
*By the way, you can substitute the glitter with snow globe snow, which you can find on Amazon or e-bay. If you'd like to make some at home click  [HERE]( https://www.thoughtco.com/benzoic-acid-snow-globe-605981).

Carefully close the lid on the jar and see if you need to fix anything or add some water. If not, tighten it (you can put hot glue or waterproof silicone on the edges to seal it up).
