Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney. We are two sisters using the Steem blockchain to chat about our life experiences and provide a little entertainment value to the Steemit Community.

## <center>Topic of this Episode – Being the Boss - Managing People</center>

Woooow did we have a lot to discuss here! We didn't even make it through half of the questions in our hat - and so we have decided to turn this into a two-parter! I have spent quite a few years leading teams in different organizations and Mary has just become a manager at her job. It's pretty fun to hear about her initial experiences and reflect back on some of mine. 

Next week I think we will touch more on hiring/firing and maybe more of what we think managing a team effectively could look like. We'd love to get some more audience questions on this topic too! 

Here are the questions covered in this episode:

We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@corsucate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Thanks for answering my question. I so much love this topic because i know what it takes to be a leader. I'm currently the leader of my level mates in my department and you know at times they can be so frustrating but as a leader, I just have to be tolerance. My questions goes thus; 
- What will you do if a member disagree with your directive and how will you handle it?
- Is competition among a team healthy? Why or why not?

I am so glad I finally got the chance to see your lovely faces again. I have been away for so long. 
 On the topic, being a boss. It is not easy...it is challenging when you have to manage other people, carry them along more so when they are uncooperative. I have been in positions like that so I totally understand. 
My questions are 
* As the leader of a team, how do you promote unity and cooperation especially when members are uncooperative?
* What is the best thing about being a boss?
