This is a shot of our santolina in bloom, from this past summer. 

It's a fairly unremarkable plant with dull yellow flowers and gray-green foliage, but I like the way the black-and-white version makes the stems look almost skeletal, like bones. Turning the image monochrome also brought forward the tiny spiderweb threads, which were all but invisible in the color version.
