This was the first week back in the league after the international break. Betting can be quite intensive and these breaks really help to recharge the batteries. In the past I would just continue non-stop years in a row which always came along with a dip in focus and form at some point. Getting this balance in place really helps to bring about better and more stable results. I plan on making a post on this topic in the near future...

<p>The excellent form continues with another strong winning week mostly thanks to avoiding a lot of bad betting spots along with making 1 strong prediction on a big underdog that played out exactly as expected.</p>

One of the things I have always done is to know my limitations and underdstand that a lot of guessing work and luck are involved. My personal results these past couple years have been very consistent (2300+ bets with +6.5% ROI). This bet gives a nice confirmation for myself that I really have an edge over these markets and that I can trust my own view on things more than anything. In my starting years I mostly got intimidated by what other Belgian Handicappers were on (mostly in private forums) seeing them as likely more knowledgable. Most of them failed the test of time though and were unable to keep up with the betting markets getting sharper. This was something I managed to overcome and I don't care anymore what anyone else is on. Instead I always gave a lot of authority to the market. The bet on Sint-Truiden was one of the first time I really went big against the market being convinced that the line was way off despite the huge line movement causes by big money.  Being able to call out a big outright underdog  , staking it quite big and seeing it win really gives  me a confidence boost to give my own view more authority over the big players who are moving the odds in these kind of situations.

There is never a time to lay back though and I still have many aspects in my betting and handicapping to work on. One of them is the fact that I've been quite carefull with my stakes having an average size of only 0.4 units this week. Volume is key and I would like to get average amount of units stakes up a bit these next couple weeks. It is always a tricky to do after a hot run so I will increase them slowly or wait for something of a correction first.

Short term variance will always be a huge factor in these bets. the comeback from Club Brugge that resulted in a push could have easily lost while the over and counter goal in Racing Genk could both have won if Trossard socred his big chance at the end.
