I agree with @doitvoluntarily, the third photo appeals to me especially because of the feeling in it - the snow sifting before the trees reminiscent of desert sands and the isolation which echoes the Longfellow poem. Nicely done.

Second one is __nice!__ Shadow lines draw your eyes across the image nicely! It's also quite geometric in it's simplicity. Top could be cropped of to lose the uninteresting too black and messy trees.

First and last image are lacking _the thing_ or a subject. If you imagine person or lets say a rabbit sitting on the foreground they would be complete. Now they are more like a canvas to be used. Last photo has the best light and weather conditions for my liking!

I was going to crop it that way and then I thot it would look too cropped.  So my instincts were right to get rid of the heavy black trees in the background. 

I seriously appreciate this feedback.   I'm not offended or anything like that.    

I was pleased with this photo and on purpose took it because I liked the lines.  The sun was in the right spot for shadows.  The top photo is on the opposite laneway where I was standing.  Same kind of trees, just not the same sharp shadows.  I probably should have used black and white for that one as well or stood in a different spot.

Thank you @drakmin!  I like this kind of feedback.  This is how I learn.  I'm going to practice observing before I shoot my next photo.  I'll look for the subject - which will be a learning experience because I thought the blowing snow was the subject in the last photo - even though I thought it was missing something I figured the snow texture in the foreground was "it".
