We Caught Two Swarms In One Day OUTSIDE Swarming Season. WOW!

Hey everyone, wow, just wow. What an epic day today was. In South Africa honey bee swarming season is generally between August and November. Two days ago on the 19th of January we caught two epic large swarms in the same day. We have recently been experiencing tons of rain, my theory is that the bees think it is spring again and therefor are again swarming. Lots of rain means a plethora of food. The swarms we have I  noticed have doubled in size in the last month..

This swarm we plan to take to our other site which as many bluegum tree's. We have 6 other hives there doing very well and 13 on this property. It will be really interesting to see which are more productive, I shall keep you posted.

Hey my friend so generous of you again thank you. We lost 4 swarms in the last 6 weeks but got back 5 in the last week. Very lucky hehe.. The ones we lost were due to ants hive beetles and wax moth the enemies of bees sigh. Have a lovely week x
