Many people, including seasoned photographers, do it for various reasons. One type of photo editing that is often done is to change color photos into black and white photos. **There are many reasons for doing that**.   Could be because of simple things like because most of the photos are black and white and only a small portion of the color is like the photo above. Of course the color composition in the photo becomes less pleasant to see if that part is left still present. It could also be because you want to display the impression of old school or old-fashioned in a photo. Changing color photos into black and white photos can indeed be one way to bring the feel of ancient times. The majority will use many applications and software that can do that. Countless even. Not a few who provide a variety of "modes" to facilitate users.
