This is my response to @naturalmedicine’s question:

## <center>My short answer</center>
<br>

#### *No, I don’t live a healthy life to avoid or postpone death.  Death is inevitable.  I do so to have the best quality of life that I can possibly have while here on this earth, in this feeble body.  I want to live this life in as little pain and suffering as possible, that’s why I choose to be health conscious and take care of my whole entire person in the best way possible.*

This answer is based off my personal life journey and how finding natural medicines and remedies changed my life...

## <center>Learning the Ugly Truth</center>

Right out of high school I started going to my doctor quite often. I was having some irritation problems and sought out his recommendations.  Every time the answer was *antibiotics*.  

After taking them so often I noticed other problems in my body started to surface.  I later learned that although the antibiotics were helping with one ailment they were also creating another.  I was wiping out good bacteria right along with the bad.  It was a vicious cycle and I was in constant pain and discomfort because of it.

This cycle is what led me to search for healthier alternatives.  My search led me to essential oils and food for medicine.  It completely changed the course of my health.  Using these natural options gave me a better quality of life.

So let’s talk more about the quality factor.  We have already established that there is no escaping death.  Knowing this fact doesn’t mean we should not care how healthy and well we are.  It doesn’t mean we should engage in harmful things that damage our bodies fast and in a hurry.  It doesn’t mean we should waste this beautiful opportunity of being able to live just because it will someday end.  

If I don’t have to live my days here in pain, discomfort, sickness and distress then I don’t want to.  If I have the resources to be able to live a healthy, active, refreshing and chemical-free as possible life then that’s what I’m going to strive for!  Being health conscious feels better and has brought so much peace of mind to my life.  I’ll choose joy any day over misery.  This is why I live healthy, this is why the quality of my life matters.

>Don’t settle for living in sickness if you have the means to live in good health! 

I don’t believe I can postpone my death because I don’t have a say so on when I take my last breathe, that’s out of my control.  However, I do believe I can *prolong* the *quality* of my life by taking care of myself.

I believe that everyone should focus on those things which they *can* control and make the best of their living. We can control:

**•what goes in our bodies (choose food wisely)**
**•what goes on our bodies (watch out for products with harsh chemicals)**
**•our emotional state (we can choose to live angry or at peace)**
**•our physical state (we can choose to be fit and active)**
**•how much we learn (we can research and seek better understanding to enhance our knowledge)**

I’m here for a reason, I have a purpose. While I’m here I want to be the best me possible.  I will focus on those things which I can control instead of drowning in misery at those which I can’t.  I choose good health over poor health, peace over distress, joy over misery.  I live a healthy life to prolong the quality!

Great points!! I agree, there is no stopping death, but we can make a BIG difference in our lives by treating our bodies in such a way as to make this life the best we can! Eating healthy, eliminating toxins from our environment, using natural remedies when possible are all ways to keep our bodies as healthy as possible and feeling our best! If we feel good, then this life we've been given will be much more enjoyable. ♥
