PotCoins Pump | Bitcoin Fanboy-ism

Whoa, mind blown. Blockchain. I get it now.
What contributes heavily to these mind-blowing realizations, is just how bad the fiat system is. Blockchain is a fine technology, but in comparison to the alternative it just goes to absolutely amazing.

Front page of CoinDesk, why segwit2x is doomed to fail. https://www.coindesk.com/opinion-segwit2x-doomed-fail/ It’s a good read, but in summation the problem with the New York agreement in creating the new fork was they wrongly assumed they represented consensus, around 38% of the original parties have dropped out, and ultimately the market will decide. Currently future B2X coins are worth roughly 15% of an actual bitcoin. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/segwit2x/

Am I a Bitcoin fan boy? Yes. Am I wasting your time with the news of forks regarding this oldest and slowest crypto? Some people say to me they wish I wasn’t a fan of Bitcoin, because another crypto is going to overtake it. Reasons being because it’s faster and cheaper to use, like Litecoin for example. Here’s where I think the problem arises. Let me paint you this picture.
Bitcoin is the sun, and the alt coins are planets orbiting this sun. Should the brightness of this sun (or price) start to decline, these planets are going to suffer immensely, if not all together die. So, if you believe in your planet (coin), you want the sun to succeed. You have to agree, your planet is not independent of the sun in the past, now, or conceivably any time in the not too distant future. Not even the biggest planet of Ethereum is.

Also keep in mind, that most alt coins currently are used simply to be turned into more bitcoin one day. I don’t have any numbers for this, but I believe cryptocurrency as a whole is primarily not used as a currency, but as digital gold. Bitcoin being the very best at it because of air drop forked coins, media attention, most proof of work most secure, tried and true, fan boys like me spreading the word etc etc. Not to mention the epic scaling that is coming to Bitcoin in future. Graphene is being discussed, https://people.cs.umass.edu/~gbiss/graphene.pdf which is an upgrade that could pack considerably more data into a block. 2019 by the latest should see a lightning network enabled Bitcoin.
So, ask yourself, if Bitcoin isn’t the best crypto in existence, despite it’s flaws, at least for today. I think so, maybe you still don’t, an interesting debate we could have.

Is it too late to invest into Bitcoin? https://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-big-is-bitcoin-really-this-chart-puts-it-all-in-perspective-2017-06-21 The market cap for gold is 8.2 trillion dollars. Gold has its use cases, as does Bitcoin. In my opinion, bitcoin is a better store of value than gold is. So, no, it’s still really early days.

This just in about Ethereum: https://i.imgur.com/0hVSyz7.jpg

Most of the alts have short term pumps, and then people dump again to get back into Bitcoin. Any coin project out right now that wants to share positive developments they’ve been working on will be waiting till after the fork to drop their news. Even the biggest coins are doing it. Bitcoin cash for example is waiting till on the day of the fork pretty much to go live with their improvement. If they’re doing it, you can bet coins lower in the list are doing so as well. Raiden, the scalability upgrade to Ethereum is meant to go live by the beginning of December.

There’s been several events for Monero, and recently the multisignature implementation, officially entered testing phase. The project was community funded. Multisignature (multisig) refers to requiring more than one key to authorize a transaction. It’s presumed the popularity of monero on shady websites will be greatly improved with this upgrade.

**Hello & Cheers!!** I'm a content detection and information bot. You are receiving this reply because a short link or links have been detected in your post/comment. The purpose of this message is to inform your readers and yourself about the use of and dangers of short links.

**To the readers of the post:** Short links are provided by [url shortening](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL_shortening) services. The short links they provide can be useful in some cases. Generally their use is benign. But as with all useful tools there are dangers. Short links can be used to hide all sorts of things. Quite frequently they are used to hide referral links for instance. While not dangerous this can be deceptive. They can also be used to hide dangerous links such as links to phishing sites, sites loaded with malware, scam sites, etc. You should always be extremely cautious before clicking on one. If you don't know and trust the poster don't click. Even if you do you should still be cautious and wary of any site you are sent to. It's always better to visit the site directly and not through a short link.

**To the author of the post:** While short links may be useful on some sites they are not needed on steemit. You can use markdown to format your links such as this link to [steemit](https://steemit.com). It's as simple as `[steemit](https://steemit.com)` Unlike short links this allows the reader to see where they are going by simply hovering over the link before they click on it.

@aonraza ·
you seem an experienced cryptocurrency exchanger. These days there is a talk in the market and i also heard the analysis of bitcoin investors that bitcoin is going to hit $10k this year. i wanted to buy it but i stop, thinking that it will come down. Now, i don't have any idea whether it will come down or keep going up like rocket speed. Please, share your experience. When should i buy bitcoin? thank you.

I’m pretty bullish on BitcoinCash, 8mb blocksize increase on what’s basically the original BTC sounds like a pretty good scaling solution to me. With Segwit2x likely fail and endless forks, BCH is looking better and better. What do others think?
