What are the best wallets to store multiple alt coins (cryptocurrencies) in one
?
The best wallets are always paper, hardware, and core wallets in terms of security and control, however in terms of web based wallets there are no known (at least to me) wallets that supports ALL alt coins, here though are three tried and trusted wallets that do support multiple coins:
Jaxx: Jaxx is a simple to use multicoin wallet that supports: Bitcoin, Dash, ETC, Augur, LTC, Zcash, DOGE, Golem, ETC. it supports approximately 15 coins and the list grows continually.
Jaxx functions mainly as a download wallet which appends to you Chrome browser as an extension, it can also be downloaded onto your smart phone as an app. It is a very user friendly wallet which offers a client side security model with private keys hosted locally and never sent to a server.
Jaxx is one of the quickest wallets to register with and use, it does not request most of the verification processes required by most other wallets, you can pretty much download and start using it almost immediately.
One of the downsides of Jaxx however lies in its security; Jaxx functions on a 12 word set that users use as a password, though fairly secure it can relatively easily be deciphered by a hacker. The people behind Jaxx recommend that it should be used as a “hot wallet” and advise users not to store too much value on it.
