Yesterday was a very difficult day for me although I did manage to sleep a little and I am just enduring this fluid build-up in my lungs that really make me breathless whenever dialysis day would come near. It is for the reason that it is the day that I am usually full of water in my body. But the fluids that I am accumulating is not that much, it is just my organs got compressed by my backbone collapse and it in turn squeezed my lungs. That and an extra fluid build-up makes me breathless most of the time.

So I keep it in mind not to drink too much fluids and I avoid eating salty foods that could easily make me thirsty. I just drink water or fluids only when I am thirsty. So I don't drink socially or I would drown myself. I just prefer coffee or a very cold drink just to easily quench my thirst so that I won't overdo it and give myself some trouble breathing after. It is just a matter of self control and sound discipline just to survive being a dalysis patient.

But yesterday I had changed my dialyzer into a quite bigger high flux dialyzer thanks to my nurse. It just means that I had a much efficient blood cleaning because the filter that I am using now. It has many larger holes than the previous one so in turn I had gotten a dialysis-forte that made my blood pressure low. Low enough for my nurses to raise my feet almost vertically.

It is hard to get a very low blood pressure or you will poop yourself in bed. Hypotension during dialysis by the way can just be easily corrected by adding water to the blood stream (Saline solution Infusion) and raising the feet. Fortunately I felt better immediately after my nurses made the necessary workaround. But my dialysis also pulled water  from my lungs in the process.  I don't usually go in hypotension mode without any reason so the reason was the dialysis had taken extra water from my body.

Now I can just breathe better again. It was just like this most of the time. I would develop rales in my lungs and then at some point just like yesterday dialysis would correct my body water balance but with a price. Sometimes I just request my nurses for an extra water pulling during dialysis and it does the job well. I just thank God for this wonderful easy-breathing day and thanks to steemit community for selflessly helping and supporting me. God bless you all.
