In a [press release](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/naval-aviation-enterprise-exploring-blockchain-with-indiana-based-company-itamco-300716633.html), the United States Navy Air System Command (NAVAIR) has revealed that the organization is currently exploring the blockchain technology for tracking aviation parts throughout its lifecycle.
Through the use of blockchain, NAVAIR plans to reduce the high cost it takes to operate a military aircraft.
They have partnered with Indiana Technology and Manufacturing Companies (ITAMCO) under the Cooperative Research and Development Agreement to enable them to use cutting-edge chain code that can recall larger data sets efficiently, effectively and securely.
ITAMCO developed a blockchain as a service platform which allows for tracking secure messages using blockchain for the united states military dubbed as SIMBA Chain.
The purposed of the blockchain is to give the navy a cutting-edge technology to improve visibility, anti-tampering, traceability, and data transparency in its supply chain.
<h1>Three Blockchain Bills Introduced In Congress</h1>
The co-chair of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus, Representative Tom Emmer has recently introduced three blockchain-related bills for consideration by Congress.

The second bill dubbed as the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act defines the terms of blockchain related words and indicates that no blockchain developer or provider of a blockchain service shall be treated as a money transmitter.
The last bill is called the Safe Harbor for Taxpayers with Forked Assets Act of 2018 which basically is an amnesty to those who have not paid tax on cryptocurrencies they have received through a hard fork.

The firm is also reported to be launching a bank in a couple of months.
