<center>http://cryptowarrior.tech/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-9.png</center> <br/><p>It has been reported that the government of Russia is taking a very interesting approach towards cryptocurrencies in general as the Association of Banks of Russia (ABR) proposes a tax on cryptocurrency mining that is equivalent to the tax on found properties or treasures.</p>
<p>While bitcoin has from the beginning been associated with speculators and criminals, it might have already found its true identity in Russia well at least how it is treated as a taxable asset.</p>
<p>ABR says that using legal fiction it could be argued that the first owner of the crypto assets found them since the receipt form an anonymous system can be conditionally considered a find and thus they propose that cryptocurrency mining be equated with finding of money or any other form of treasure and allowed to exchange it to rubles.</p>
<p>In Russian legal practice, a taxation practice like this will point to the concept of newly created things which include property generated and developed individually by a citizen, in this case cryptocurrencies can be considered a thing and be used in barter transactions and taxed accordingly.</p>
<p><a href="https://bitcoinist.com/cryptocurrency-might-be-treated-as-treasure-under-russias-tax-code/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ABR also reports that there is a danger in prohibiting cryptocurrency operations, they believe that the best way to avoid cryptocurrencies being used by criminals is to band anonymous transactions.</a></p>
