Achivement1: my introductory post

Good day everyone, actually this is not my third post since I have joined Steemit.
 

I am a student currently majoring in information systems in a tropical country. I am not sure where I should go after graduation but I really don`t want back to the authoritarian regime. 

As a Chinese, I might post something against my government in the future so I guess it could still be dangerous to put my own picture online.  I  also care about privacy online.  I may try to learn more about cypherpunk and may become an activist in the future. 

 Why? because as a Chinese , I am longing for real freedom for years now and the situation in my country is worse and worse.( Most people in my home country even get used to the extreme surveillance）

 So normally I would like to use Steemit as a platform to express my thoughts about this world and the future.
By the way, I like    books written by Lu Xun , Victor Hugo and  Dostoevsky   and films directed by Aki Kaurismäki .

Hi @curcuma welcome to Steemit! You're an interesting person, would love to follow what you have to share with us here. I'm not that strict about my online privacy and I think I need to start to be more cautious in sharing about my privacy online. I thought I'm not that important person or a billionaire that government or any people up there want me, but since I support freedom and human right, I should be more anonymous or have some anon characters around the internet for any future activist activities if any. 😊

Thank you,@cryptokannon,  we are all ordinary person , but when you look at [the  term of service](https://www.facebook.com/terms.php) of Facebook, it says ".....This means, for example, that if you share a photo on Facebook, you give us permission to store, copy, and share it with others (again, consistent with your settings) such as service providers that support our service or other Facebook Products you use." 
Facebook can scan your posts and pictures in realtime which means even you deleted your post after a moment , they still had got everything you posted or uploaded.  Other big companies such as Google , Microsoft and Tencent are doing the same thing. They are using the pictures from their users to train their AI on face recognition  and to  build so-called [smart cities    
 ,or  cities of surveillance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=122&v=LKN_EHkjCcs&feature=emb_title) which is an infringement to the human right.

Steemit is totally different from  Facebook but  I just find that it has been acquired by  Sun Yuchen(the founder of TRON, not a  good guy)last year. I don`t like him and I would still be careful.   Actually , every photo can be a clue to get much information about the people in the photo  ( from the photo itself and the metadata of that photo )

Thank you for the awareness on Facebook, that's just crazy, I used to share a lot of photos with my family in a private Facebook group. 😅

About Sun Yuchen I know many people dislike him, maybe because he is a hype man? or he just doing his business the way he thinks it should be run in order to survive out there.. but actually, he has a good heart. I started to get to know about him when there were rumors that he's going to buy steemit back then in November, did some research about him, I found out he is kind and not that bad as people painted him. I love him..
