Daily Nature Fix: The Elusive Moose. (Original Photos)

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Good evening nature fans. &nbsp;Tonight's Daily Nature Fix is about a bucket list item that kept evading us: seeing a moose. &nbsp;Now, thanks to our last trip to Glacier National Park, that goal has been met....well, halfway. &nbsp;We spotted a female moose chowing down on some aquatic vegetation and later we saw a mother moose and calf cross the hiking trail no more than 30 feet from us. &nbsp;Both experiences were awesome, but Kylene and I both really, really want to see a bull moose with it's iconic rack of massive antlers. &nbsp;We've been hoping to check that off of our list for years now, and we still are. &nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Anyway, here is the moose cow we saw in Fishercap Lake in the Many Glacier region of the park. &nbsp;We were told by a ranger that the lake was a good spot to see moose so we hiked down there posthaste. &nbsp;Sure enough, there she was:</p>

<p>^^^An actual moose! &nbsp;We were really hoping to see a male, but beggars can't be choosers, I'm told. &nbsp;</p>

<p>^^^As you can see, the lake isn't all that deep which I'm assuming is why it's a popular moose hangout. &nbsp;She was eating some kind of plant matter that was growing on the bottom of the lake. &nbsp;You can see a bit of it hanging out of here mouth in this photo.</p>

<p>^^^Our first moose sighting and we were fortunate to have it in a place with such an awesome setting. &nbsp;Snowy, rocky mountains all around. &nbsp;We didn't get a photo of the mom and calf moose I mentioned earlier. &nbsp;It all happened very quickly and, to be honest, I was pretty freaked out and didn't want to do anything to her. &nbsp;She easily stood 6 feet or taller at the shoulder. &nbsp;I wouldn't want that angry mom to be upset with us!</p>
