We have all been there. Now you opened that book. From the picture it looks like a blank slate to write on. You will never know where it takes you until you turn the page.

Sometimes it is better to just close the book.

Interesting way to end a year of so many changes and challenges. The Book of Life, more alive than ever, Describing between the lines the processes that happen before our eyes and we go unnoticed in most cases.The All taking care of the Parties and/or vice versa, create an atmosphere of resolution and infinite beginning of the game, which binds and unties us at the same time. The invitation is to continue trying, to be lucid and attentive to the signs.

So good to have you back. For some strange reason I missed this post when it came out. I had been checking your blog for a week prior, running specualtions with Quill about your wellbeing.

That's a great way of conceiving the self. (most) People hate books, and even people who like reading shun from thick books. That's one of the alleged reasons J. K. Rowling' manuscript was rejected several times before it got published.

I loved this passage:

I think that if religious people had some sense of humor, they would undertsand how much easier it would be for the average believer to access the divinity and its alleged creation if only we dared to look at said creation with some self-deprecation.

It is an overwhelming task to try to undertsand ourselves, let alone the rest of the world, but every long journey starts with a first step and every think book gets read one page at the time.
Even if never finish reading our self-tome, we'll feel so much better having started, having tried to decipher its incommensurate mysteries.

I'd been trying to convince @hlezama to swim up from Venezuela to check on you in Texas. I told him it would be good exercise and he could lose some weight. If I'm being honest ... he was balking. 

*"I'm Venezuelan ... I've already lost half my body-weight. Why don't you just walk over from Florida, you fat bastard?"*

I tried to convince him that I'm an old guy but the whole *"Venezuela, half dead from starvation routine"* is a surprisingly difficult argument to counter. Your reappearance resolves our impasse.

Interesting article ... trying to sell people on the value of self-reflection. I hope you're not a betting man. At 51 *(Geese, that sounds a lot worse than 50, doesn't it?),* I've noticed that life gets a lot simpler to navigate if you focus on the process instead of the results:

1. Don't lie, cheat, steal or betray.
2. Have the courage of your convictions ... but expect to pay a price. 
3. Be picky about who you make your friends, but defend those you do to the death.
4. Nag your friends into being greater than they would be otherwise.
5. The ends don't justify the means ... govern yourself accordingly.
6. The world needs heroes ... try to be one once in a while.
7. Only steel sharpens steel ... surround yourself with those capable of proving you wrong.
8. Refuse to call opinions facts, either yours or others.
9. Refuse to eat Brussels Sprouts ... and be suspicious of those who do. 

BTW, thanks for you know what ... it's a slow mountain to climb.
