The Tennessee Titans are melting.

Well I'm not sure even where to begin with this one. The Titans get shutout by the Broncos, 16-0. The Titans are bad. We are very near **dumpster fire** territory here folks. I'm speechless. Sad, mad, frustrated. But I have begun to accept it. I have zero expectations for the rest of the season at this point.

There is a razor thin chance the Titans turn it around but I just have little evidence to prove that except gut feelings, and most likely bias to my team. It looks bad. Very bad.

Marcus Mariota played like **stank**. Whatever that means. Might be his worst game ever. This game or the game against the Ravens last year, against Flacco which is kind of funny. He refused to throw the ball. He just did not look comfortable at any point in the game and just showed no signs of even getting the team in field goal range. Offensive line played pretty badly too but sheesh not that bad to perform as poorly as Mariota did. Things got so bad Head Coach Mike Vrabel pulled Mariota and put in backup Ryan Tannehill.

Tannehill is a veteran quarterback. Honestly he isn't horrible. But not a guy I'm jumping for joy to lead the team. He's about .500 as a starting quarterback. So I suppose it could be a nice different look for the team but am I supposed to have high hopes for 2019 all of a sudden?

Marcus Mariota. Dang. It may sound like I am bashing the guy, I'm not. I'm just dissapointed. I appreciate every good thing he has done for the Titans. [The stiff-arm versus Jacksonville](https://twitter.com/mattneely_/status/1142269566636236800) in Nashville to send the Titans to the playoffs for the first time in a million years. [The amazing comeback against the Chiefs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NOVY_ZGdJs) to give the Titans their first playoff win a million years. The three straight winning seasons in a row, all at 9-7 but still winning seasons. Every great play he's ever made will be a memory I cherish because I am a diehard Titans fan. Mariota has skills and he is a really great person. Humble. One of my favorite Titans. A lot of mixed emotions here.

Mariota's career in Nashville may not be totally over, but it is in clear as day jeopardy.

The unfortunate part about Mariota seems to be his very obvious inconsistency. True, there are other guys on the field. Mariota has dealt with many coaching changes. He's had several minor and a few serious injuries.

Even with those true facts, some weeks a sharp Mariota shows up and the next week a casual, nonchalant Mariota shows up.

Some say the franchise ruined a good talent. I don't know. That is pretty hard to say I think.

As a fan things look extremely bleak for 2019.

If somehow Tannehill can just manage the game and score some points like 20 or more a game the Titans can be competitive. The Titans have a pretty ok running game and I'd like to say a good defense. If Tannehill can just friggin move the ball who knows. Maybe the Titans can at least be a fun team to watch.

Even as I write as if Tannehill will start next week, it is not official. The team will announce their decision tomorrow as to who will start against the Chargers next week.

Whoever starts, it may very well not matter.

The Titans sit at 2-4. Something needs to change on offense quick fast and in a hurry or soon I will be checking out the draft boards much earlier than I would have liked to in 2019.

As a Titans fan I'm just sad.

I get the frustration and disappointment... Mariota seems to hold the ball too long with an O-line that gives him no time. He's in a situation where he needs to make immediate decisions. Honestly, whoever is the QB is going to have it rough behind that O-line the way they're playing.

Let's be fair to the Broncos too. They played well that game despite racking up more penalties than the Titans. They snagged 3 interceptions, only allowed 1 sack. They didn't make it easy.

There's still time, the Titans are only a few games behind in the division. Things could turn upside down in just 2 weeks.

That said, if they don't turn it around I do think this will be Mariota's last year as a Titan which might be good for everyone. Maybe he does well with a fresh start somewhere else and maybe the Titans can grab a star in the draft.

One of those picks by the Broncos were in garbage time. When Mariota holds the ball for so long idk what the o-line is supposed to do. I disagree it is just the o-line. Tannehill accumulated more yards than Mariota on significantly less time than Mariota with the same o-line. A quarter for tannehill had 144 in a quarter while Mariota had 63 in nearly 3 quarters. Nearly double the completions as well.
