### A few weeks ago my dad's partner told me to stop dilly dallying and get on with finding a property. 

He said, quite rightly, that you don't need to start a company to buy a house in fact quite the opposite. All the admin and paperwork and fuss can slow down and get in the way of what's important - getting on with it!

### I took his advice quite literally and within a few weeks of that conversation we have found and bought a house. 

But, my partner still wanted to purchase it through a company for a variety of reasons, however the majority of these do not apply to us at this stage and the ones that do do not out weigh the cost in terms of time and energy to maintain the paperwork needed.

### Another of Don's reasons for not starting the company at this stage, aside from the unnecessary admin, was that this is a new partnership and you only know what it's like to work with someone when you work with them. 

So his advice was to do the first one as a joint venture in our personal capacities and reassess at the end of it. My trust issues agreed with that but I am not a tax expert - far from it - so when someone tells me we will save money by putting everything through a company I can't really argue without feeling like I'm making it personal. 

### Sometimes I can be quite bulldozed in the moment, especially when I'm not confident, which I certainly am not with regards to tax so I called Don and asked him to explain it to me again so I could go through it with my partner. 

He took me through the various reasons it is a waste of time and energy at this point and also explained that we are able to claim pretty much the same in our personal capacities as we could with a company.

### I was relieved to have practical reasons to keep things simple. 

I called my partner and recounted everything I'd been told and she agreed that we should go ahead as is and look at setting up a company later in the day, once this property is sold or at least listed and we know more about the ins and outs of the business and each other.

### I feel much better about it this way and I'm happy we don't have to waste anymore time on paperwork! 

The offer can now be put through for processing and the wait for transfer can begin! Yay!!
