**_Gather my faithful people to me those who made a covenant with me by offering a sacrifice. Psalms 50:5_**
Sacrifice unto God is a priestly order as a core demanded by God himself and it's also a core part of every religion. It is the act of giving something that's of a high value to a deity. It didn't originate with man but God himself appointed sacrifice as the mode in which acceptable worship was to be offered to Him by Man.
People in the old testament performs sacrifice unto God by slaughtering animals and offering the blood of the animal, majorly a lamb/goat unto God for the remission of there sins but what I observed is that, God is more interested in our relationship with him order than offering sacrifice to Him.

There's no remission of sin without shedding of blood and God through the finished work of his Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ offered himself as a sacrifice for the remission of our sins so that the bridge between God and Man that was created by sin could be destroyed **[an act of love towards us]** and the sole purpose of creation could be esthablished- **_Koinonia with God the father!_ **
>_18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling[a] the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:18-20._
With this act of love from God to us through Jesus Christ, we no longer need to offer any sacrifice of blood for the remission of our sins because the price has been paid once and for all.
But, there's one important and peculiar sacrifice that's expected of us to offer unto God always and that's the sacrifice of ourselves, our life, in short, the whole of our being- Spirit, Soul and Body as a living sacrifice unto God and Bible calls this, our most reasonable service unto God. [a complete and perfect service unto God].
> _I appeal to you therefore, brothers,[a] by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.[b] 2 Do not be conformed to this world,[c] but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 ESV._

However, the potency of this sacrifice can only be effective if we continually offer our life as a living sacrifice unto God which must be offered in Holiness. Moreso, God is more interested in our life as a sacrifice than the sacrificed offered.
> And Samuel said,
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22. ESV.
