First it is an anonymous one, and there is a letter compiled in the year 1683 in the city of Veracruz. In 1958, Ritchie Valens, a singer of Mexican parents born in the United States, recorded an electric version with a rock and roll rhythm of "La bamba" that definitely popularized it and made it a classic of that genre. I wanted to sing this song because I really like it and because on many occasions I have sung it in celebrations to encourage some family and friends gathering. Cheers to my dear friend @donatello, I'm trying to get activated.</div>

Primero es un anónimo, y existe una letra recopilada en el año 1683 en la ciudad de Veracruz.  En 1958, Ritchie Valens, un cantante de padres mexicanos nacido en Estados Unidos, grabó una versión eléctrica con ritmo de rock and roll de «La bamba» que la popularizó definitivamente y la convirtió en un clásico de ese género. Quise cantar esta canción porque me gusta mucho y porque en muchas oportunidades la he cantado en celebraciones para animar alguna reunión familiar y de amigos.
