Hey Monster Maniacs, as many of you know, the first position is one of the most important in the alignment of our @splinterlands teams, so much so that often our team is based on the synergy that the other cards have with it. Generally we place in this position strong cards capable of withstanding a lot of damage (tanks) but there are also cards that can surprise due to their speed or versatility. It is a dismissive position when obtaining the victory, even sometimes this single card can win the combat as if it was a single man's army.

I have dramatically changed my scrypt and modified the structure of the database, now I can load data much faster by consulting less times the APIs of @splinterlands, I fixed the problem with the bronze league, where I could not load data from the cards that are part of the starter set and put some margins for the levels of the cards in the different leagues. These filters are as follows:

Only the battles where all the participating monsters have their levels within those ranges are added to the database, there is only one exception with the Furious Chicken, this can be of any level.

All the data shown below has a maximum period of 15 days and the great majority of the analyzed battles are of these first days of January.

Only monsters that have appeared at least five times in the database are shown.

<h2>Conclusions</h2>
<ul>
<li>The Goblin Mech is a real monster in the bronze league, but doesn't have a great performance in the other leagues (at least not in the first position)</li>

<li>The tank of excellence in the upper leagues is Lord Arianthus, as I'm sure we all know.</li>

<li>Cursed Slimeball	22 -	7 -	75.86% (I'm so happy for your nerf, stink ball!)</li>

<li>there are cards that are not tanks per se, but they do not do badly in this position, cards like the Furious Chicken, Exploding Dwarf, Failed Summoner, Cocatrice, can be a good choice at the right time.</li>
