It's my pleasure participating in this week's lecture on another exposure in the Tron ecosystem by professor @yohan2on. I'm grateful for the pretty exposure.
# Governance of The Tron Ecosystem
In the Tron ecosystem or Tron network, there are precisely 27 super representatives (SR)
Nevertheless, any account holder in the Tron network can be a super representative candidate.
On the contrary, the 27 block producers in the TRX ecosystem who also have the most or the highest votes from account holders who have freezed their TRX for voting are the super representatives in the TRX ecosystem.
The TRON account holders who also possess TronPower (TP) through staking are the ones eligible to vote for super representatives.
The super representatives on the other hand are in charge of block generation or production and packaging of transactions as they are consequently rewarded through votes by members of the community who freeze their TRX for voting.
However, votes from the eligible voters are counted every 6 hours and this permits that the super representatives can be affected during this hour of vote count.
# Super Representative Partners:
Now the super partners are also members who have lesser votes as compared to that of the super representatives this ranges from about the 28th person to to the 127th persons that were voted.
# Super Representative Candidates:
These are the people that participated in the TRX Super representative process and they are those that ranked from 1 to 27 which are the Super Representatives and those that ranked from 28 to 127 which are SR partners.
# Reward System:
The 127 candidates who are also the SR partners will share a mined TRX of 115,200 after the update process in every 6 hours, and this is apportioned according to the vote weight a partner received. This is also called vote reward. There is a total of 168,192,000 TRX receivable by all the candidates in a year.
The 27 Super Representatives specifically on the other hand shares the sum of 230,400 TRX equally every 6 hours as mined and a total of 336,384,000 TRX annually. This is also called block reward.
# The Difference Between DPOS and POS Consensus Mechanisms.
First, Delegated Proof Of Stake ( DPoS ) as the name implies, is a consensus algorithm which is also an evolution in the PoS where users of a particular network can vote and also appoint delegates to validate blocks in their network. The delegates are also called block producers, validators or witnesses.
This concept was developed by Dan Larimer in 2014
On the other hand, (POS) Proof of Stake is a consensus algorithm built on the Blockchain technology which helps in eliminating the energy intensive computing mining process observable in proof of work mechanism. On the other hand this entails that a miner can validate transactions based on how many coins he possesses.
# THEIR DIFFERENCES:
* Validation of block is faster in DPoS as compared to the speed in PoS
* In DPoS block producers can easily be voted out or changed since they were delegated to validate blocks but in PoS everyone has a say because of the token they own in the system.
* DPoS uses less hardwares while PoS uses more hardwares in its operations.
* In DPoS, a few nodes can form new blocks but in PoS any one can create new blocks using their hardwares and probably some token in their public account.
* DPoS can create higher transactions per seconds as against the low rate of transaction creation in PoS.
Steps On How To Freeze TRX and Vote For Super Representatives
First, TRX staking or freezing is a means by which a TRX account holder locks his earned TRX for a period of 3 days which helps him in acquiring voting power or energy for voting of the TRX Super Representatives which consequently gives him some remuneration at the end of the process.
Nevertheless, if the account holder unstake his TRX within the specified 3 days period, his entry for voting is automatically nullified and below are the necessary steps on how to freeze and vote with your TRX.
Step 1
You log into you TRX account and tap on freeze
Step 2
In this API, choose the worth of TRX you wish to freeze after which you click on confirm and thereafter you enter your password and exit to the home page.
For instance I will be freezing 130 TRX which will give me approximately 3,434 energy and exactly 130 votes.
Step 3
On your asset portfolio interface, you click on vote and choose your desired SR member and then click on vote.
For instance, I will be voting on Poloniex which has 6.56% annual yield with all my voting power.
After voting, I click confirm to authenticate the transaction.
Step 4
After voting, you confirm by clicking on confirm. This is actually how to vote for a Super Representative and from the screenshot below, you can see that I have voted on Poloniex.
Finally, from step 2 to 4 can be repeated over again based on your accumulated energy or Tron power (TP) if you desire voting for more Super Representatives.
The Process Of Unfreezing TRX Account:
Finally you can also unstake your TRX after 72 hours and below are the procedures:
Step 1
Login to your TRX account, then click on vote.
Step 2
At the vote interface, you click on my vote
Step 3
Then you click on the particular SR you wish to cancel as you are logged in, you click on cancel and confirm the transaction.
# <center>CONCLUSION</center>
The Tron ecosystem is such a well programmed system with different profit enticing features of which the voting system is not in exemption.
The voting feature of this system is actually profitable as rewards are shared on the basis of an investor's energy in the system.
Finally it is a win win system meaning that you stand to lose nothing after staking and voting your preferred SR.
