*Injustice 2* is slated for a release on May 16 and while it looks like it is going to be incredible. Between what promises to be an incredible story mode and a big roster, many of whom were not on the first game. In the wake of Superman's defeat, the state of power was in flux and there is essentially chaos. A handful of characters are competing for control over Earth. Some have sided with Superman, some have sided with Batman and a select few others are on their own side, looking to take advantage of an opportunity. 


**Confirmed Roster:**

**Superman**

Looking to reclaim his despotic position as well as revenge on Batman, The Man of Steel will not only breakout of his prison, but he will gather his comrades to once again claim dominion. 

**Batman**

The original defeater of Superman, Batman will seek to keep Superman at bay. The Dark Knight will once again look to conquer Superman. 

**Supergirl**

The cousin of Superman and a superhero in her own right. What is conflicting to me though is the little bit I have seen of her, her role isn't quite established clearly. The site has Supergirl listed as an ally of Superman (obviously), but some beta game play footage has suggested otherwise. 


**Wonder Woman**

Wonder Woman is looking to free Superman, as they were lovers in the first game. I suspect she will be a huge factor in how Superman escapes captivity. 

**The Flash**

The Flash was a supporter of Superman in the first game though by the end, he had changed. He still went to prison to answer for his crimes. Obviously, he will get out at some point. What will be interesting to me is what will he do after that. I think he will likely side with Batman and join in the fight against Superman. 

**Aquaman**

The King of Atlantis is looking to rebuild after his world was almost subject to complete servitude of Superman. 

**Atrocitus**

The Leader of the Red Lantern Corps. He will likely be one of the independent players in terms of power. Now the game play footage that I have seen makes Atrocitus looks BADASS, especially the special move that he has (seen [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6pTn9camZo)). 

**Gorilla Grodd**

Grodd is one of the independent players in terms of trying to attain power. Considering he has telepathic abilities, he has a way of being persuasive. Despite that though, Grodd does have his own minions. 

**Deadshot**

Deadshot, being in the Suicide Squad, still has the micro-explosive in his head...and Grodd has the detonator. Working for Grodd (albeit under duress). What will be interesting to me is seeing just how Deadshot will try to undermine Grodd, just as many have done in terms of undermining the Suicide Squad. 

**Harley Quinn**

Still looking to move on from The Joker, who met his demise at the hands of Superman. In the first game, Harley was working with Batman as part of the Insurgence. 


**Blue Beetle**

Reyes has worked with Batman to control the scarab, which gives him his suit so Blue Beetle will likely be working with Batman again, fighting to stop Superman. 

**Bane**

Bane has been alienated by the Regime as well as the Insurgency. Being relegated to Gotham City, one wonders who might enlist his help...

**Poison Ivy**

Some villains have been able to put differences aside and work with Batman in order to stop Superman...I don't think Poison Ivy will be one of those villains though. 

**Robin (Damian Wayne)**

In the first game, Damian was the alternate universe's Nightwing as well as the murderer of Dick Grayson. The gameplay footage that has came out of him looks awesome (though people will probably be spamming the shit out of that sword). In the first game he sided with Superman and that shows no sign of changing. The dichotomy that has been made between him and his dad will be an interesting part of the story. 

**Braini.a.c.** 

The Brain Interactive Construct, is one of Superman's biggest villains. Known for bottling cities of Krypton, most notably Kandor. This Construct is looking to conquer Earth, but there are many who stand in his way. 

**Black Canary**

Canary was away from the battle for Superman's defeat, but I think she will be a prominent character within the story. What I wonder though is how big of a role will she play? Will she be looking to avenge Oliver Queen? Will she be serving her own ends?

Overall, I love this roster and with twenty spots still left, I am anxious to see who will be added in the coming weeks. Stick around for some thoughts that I have about the roster. This update will be posted sometime this week, so keep an eye out for it.
