Conversations With The Receptionist At The Used Computer Store 7.20.2020
My Lenovo TS 140 computer crashed its hard drive. I did order another hard drive for it, a Seagate BarraCuda 2TB Internal Hard Drive with features such as, HDD – 3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 256MB Cache 3.5-Inch. Well, that hard disk I am expecting tomorrow in the mail.

It is just that I come to the conclusion that I don't want to have any down computer time again. Well, the only way I figured to handle that situation is to get two computers that will be online. I do have a couple of Windows 7 computers, but I don't want to use them on the internet for security reasons.

So while I will fix my Lenovo TS 140 with a brand new hard drive, I see that I could have two computers that are Windows 10 for use on the internet.

I had my eye on a used Dell Optiplex 9010 MT, I5-3550, 16 GB ram and 240 GB SSD for $165. I was also looking at their used Dell LCD 22" monitor for $20. Well, if I bought those two then with tax it should be a little over $201.

I had to drive about an hour to get there as it was in Sacramento. The drive there wasn't too bad. I just followed my Garmin GPS, I use the older 255W model.

Well, when I got there I wasn't sure if I had to wear a mask or not. I would rather not wear a mask, even though our governor wants us to. Well, I don't think much of the governor at all.

Well, anyway I walk into the used computer store, it is also a place where you can bring your broken monitors and computers. Well, if they can they will fix them up and put other parts into them and test them, then they go on sale.

Like I mentioned I walk into the store and there is a girl, a receptionist, that asked me what I needed. I told her I wanted to buy a certain computer. She told me that the salesman was working with another client and I told her I was in no hurry, it was like that last time I was there to buy the Lenovo TS 140.

So I sat on the chair. I mentioned to the girl that I was happy that they were not enforcing the mask rules. She smiled, and I talked about not liking the governor that we have, she also didn't like the governor and mentioned something about politics.

Then I told her that my hard disk crashed and that I usually write blogs, but that I haven't written anything in about a week or so. She then asked me what I write about. I told her that I do write about the politics of the day sometimes, but then sometimes I may write about something that I seen in my backyard.

I told her that I had grapes growing in my backyard. She wanted to know about what kind of grapes. Well, I did have two types of grapes in my backyard, but I told her about my purple grapes that grew on my persimmon tree.

I told her it has a very nice looking purple color and that these grapes have seeds. She told me that she likes grapes with seeds also as she just chews on them more.

I told her that it is the seeds that we eat that can help us get rid of cancer. I was going by a documentary on Youtube called, A World Without Cancer The Story Of Vitamin B17. I told her that I eat apricot seeds, that are bitter to fight off cancer. She was surprised to hear that.

She told me how her mom used to make a candy out of the apricot seeds and was even mentioning how to make the caramel to make the apricot seed candy.

I asked her if she like to bake a lot. She said she didn't bake that much these days. She mentioned her kids and how she never made them that candy that her mom used to make her, but mentioned that maybe she can.

Then I mentioned that my grandma would bake a certain bread, but none of us wrote down the recipe. Well, that recipe is lost as my grandma had passed away back in the 1980's.

Then we had to stop our talking as the salesman was now in the room talking to his client. Then he looked at me and asked me what I needed. I told him, I wanted to buy a certain computer. So he directed me to another salesman. I told him what I wanted and he went and got that computer, then I told him I wanted to buy the 22" LCD monitor. He got that out too and turned it on for me. The picture looked good to me, so I bought that also.

Well, I did get my computer and monitor and keyboard and mouse and power cords and other cords. So out the door, the girl figured out the price and tax and the salesman showed me the total of $201.19 out the door. I paid in cash.

Well, that was a pleasant time at the used computer store.

Let's end with a scripture, Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Colossians 4:2.
