So my car got stolen on Friday and on Saturday I got a call from the CHP that my car was recovered and a man was caught and is in custody.
Then I got a phone call from the Oakley Police, and I was notified that my car is at a tow yard in Antioch. Then I called the tow yard and they told me that I could only get the car when I bring in the vehicle release paper.
I found out that the Oakley Police records office can do that, but they are only open from Monday through Friday. So I had to wait until Monday so I could go to the Oakley Police and get the vehicle release, that I then needed to give to the tow yard that was holding my car.
So it was good that Oakley and Antioch are neighboring cities.
Well, anyway I did go to the Oakley Police, my brother drove me there and my mom came too. It took about an hour to get there. I brought my papers to prove that I am the owner of the 93 Honda Accord. So I did get the release and then after doing other stops we went to the tow yard.
So as I was walking into the yard I did see my car, hood unlatched and missing license plates. Well, I gave the vehicle release to the girl and the girl tells me that it would be $355 to get the car back. I had to pay for the towing and for all the days that the car was there. Good thing I went there on Monday.
I thought I would be able to drive the car out of there, but it didn't start. It seems like the battery is dead. So I told the girl that my car won't start and asked if it would be OK if I brought a AAA tow into the yard.
She told me that someone will bring out the car to where a tow truck can pick up the car. So they brought it out to a parking lot near by as you see in the picture.
Things are missing from the car, like some of my CD's, GPS's, wrenches, spare tire, a bottle of motor oil and other things too, but I got my car back, that is the important thing.
I noticed that the mp3 CD of the Bible from the books of Matthew to Acts was on the floor of the car. I guess the guy that stole my car didn't want to hear scripture or the words of Jesus.
Anyway a AAA tow truck finally came after I called and it took about 2 hours and 22 minutes, but he did come.
So anyway I couldn't ride with the tow driver cause of the coronavirus event. Well my brother brought me home, after we stopped at Mom's and my brother's as I wanted to borrow their battery charger as I was to charge up my dead car battery. I was brought home as the tow guy was ready to let down my car.
The tow truck guy put my car in front of my house and I wished him a Merry Christmas as he left.
A couple of neighbors came out and wanted to know what was going on. I told them my car was stolen on Friday and I got it back on Monday and that there is a man in custody.
Now that I got my car back, I must charge up that battery and get new license plates and have the car fixed as the guy that stole my car, jammed something into the ignition to make it start, but that can be in another blog.
