Yes! Our faith will be tested...

I love the part where you said " You know what you want, but God knows what you need" it's absolutely a nice feeling knowing that God knows what I need, and there's where my patience comes in. My pastor will always say "Don't ever think God doesn't answer prayers, if you're not getting your answers now, then know it's not yet ready & be patient because he know the best"

There is an adage in my place that says "A child standing can never see what an elder sees while sitting down" 

Oftentimes, we are always in hurry to get our request granted which is understandable, but we should try as much as possible to remember that God is all knowing. We can never be smarter than God. The best we can do, is to be patient with him knowing fully well "that the plans he has for us, is of good not of evil" and it will bring us to an expected end.

How many christians still take their time to pray for wisdom? We are so occupied with what to eat and drink neglecting the fact that Jesus asked us not to think about it. Thats the reason why so many christian lacks wisdom in handling life chanlleges.

Patience has become the very needed tool of believers in these end times.
Sometimes, we may lose out because of impatience. We tend to wanna be God in the answer process whereas, he knows we actually need what we come to him for.

>Heb  10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

@deathlyhorror As Christians we are subjected to the daily trials of our faith, only the confidence of being accompanied by our Lord Jesus Christ who soon returns Matthew 24: 6-7, gives us the joy of continuing in the path of his love. I was delighted that you shared these extracts from the sacred text. An affectionate hug.

*And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose* Romans 8:28

Another reason that we can "count it all joy" in our times of testing is because God works those trials for our good and His glory.  God uses the hardships that we face to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29), to draw us nearer to Him, and  to strengthen our faith.

Thank you for your exhortation for us to practice patience.

Trials and afflictions are not popular in our quick-fix society and time. But our Lord has a way of taking His time with us, patiently and lovingly shaping us. Using every difficulty and challenge.

Just to add to what you have written, another reason why we should count it all Joy when we fall temptation is:
1) It makes us see Grace at work in our lives.
   Paul said 2Cor 12:10: "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
2) Every trial and temptation comes with a lesson and these lessons are needed for younger believers or believers who haven't gone through that dealings.

2Cor 1:4: "Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
   I pray that we would see through that which the Lord is taking us through. Selah

you are right brother @deathlyhorror! Of a truth it's not easy going through temptation but we should remember that Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. "Those who wait on the lord. The lord shall renew their strength. <hr>
