Semana del Concurso #4 - Mascotas de los Mundiales de Futbol - France 98'

**Hello my dear steem friends.**

A fantastic competition that personally transported me back to 1998. As a young football fanatic at a time when the internet and computer around me was a science fiction story.
I dug up my old notebook where I was  note of the World Cup 98.

**Mascote and logo:**

The mascot is a rooster named Footix. 
The rooster (Gallic Rooster) is the unofficial national symbol of France as a nation that takes its name from the Latin word "Gallus" meaning both "rooster" and "inhabitant of Gaul". Some ancient coins had the image of a rooster, but the bird was not used as the emblem of the tribes of Gaul. Although the Gallic rooster is not an official symbol of the Republic, it is still a certain image of France. In the collective imagination, especially in the field of sports, it remains the best illustration of the French people.

The colors of the mascot are the national colors of France. The flag of the French Republic, also known as Tricolore, is a rectangle divided into three vertical stripes: blue, white and red.

The white color refers to the former white royal flag, while red and blue are the traditional colors of Paris.

At the time of introducing the currently binding flag of France, the interpretation of the meaning and symbolism of the colors of the flag was that white means the king, blue - the nobility, and red - the people; these colors, placed on the flag, were to symbolize the equality of these social groups and indicate their equal status.

The name of the mascot is a   'foot' from the word football and the end 'ix' to mean popular Asterix character, who lives in Gallic.
