This film is about the lives of 4 sisters at the end of the nineteenth century. Each of them has different skills, one enjoys writing, another one enjoys music, one of the younger ones is a musician and so on... They aren't very wealthy but they aren't poor either. I suppose they could be considered a kind of middle class in those times.

What we see on the screen is their individual and family struggles when it comes to accomplishing their dreams and maintaining a positive family dynamic. The sisters have very different personalities with Jo being the main character of the film, she is the writer.  

There is some romance involved which was something I expected because we are talking about the lives of 4 young women, so everything related to relationships and romance will obviously be an important topic.

The cast in this movie is really amazing with several popular actresses that most people have surely already watched in other movies or series. This time, they once again provided the viewers with an amazing performance. 

We will see fights, we will see some sharp lines delivered by Meryl Streep even though she doesn't spend much time on the screen. Saoirse Ronan did a great job as the lead actress, such as she did with Lady Bird. I think she is proving to be a top choice actress for dramas that need a feminine touch, I am going to keep an eye out for her future movies. 

Laura Dern, on the other hand, had a very toned down role. She is the mother of the girls and it was weird to me watching her with this passive role after enjoying her rageful moments in the series Big Little Lies.

In this movie, we will see several fights but also how the personal growth of the characters takes place. It is not a coming of age film, because it is not entirely linear and 2 of the sisters are already old enough at the beginning of the film, but it does show how the characters mature even further.

I would recommend this movie only to people that enjoy dramas and not only dramas but slow dramas with a touch of conflicts and some personal struggles in the main characters.

* Good remake of this classic story.



#### The worst
* On a personal level, this type of drama can bore me very easily. I found myself checking the phone several times.
