Today I saw this interesting little French movie and it was quite a surprise for me. It is about a woman who is on a vacation with her husband on the beach, she goes to take a nap in the sand and when she wakes up her husband is nowhere to be found.

I did notice, perhaps mistakenly, that in the first 2-3 minutes of the movie this couple didn't seem too excited or happy. They didn't look sad either, but the absence of dialogue in those first minutes felt a little bit weird. I mention this because later in the movie this might be related to one of the possible explanations about the disappearance.

 To give a little bit more context about this story, the couple is in their mid-50s and they have been together for more than 2 decades. They seem to have a normal and comfortable life but a little bit monotonous. There is no information regarding children that I can remember, so maybe they are a childless couple.

The movie doesn't have intense moments, the only scene that is almost intense is when she realizes her husband isn't there with her and she starts looking for help. It is a slow-paced movie about how this woman faces the sudden and unexplainable loss of her husband, resulting in some kind of psychological break.

There is an important scene with her mother in law that gives us a glimpse that could explain what really happened and why, however, the wife remains in total denial throughout the story, which in fact something quite sad to see. The truth is simply too hard for her and the memory of her husband remains in her mind as a sort of psychological phantom limb.

Even though the topic of mental illness gives enough opportunities to add intriguing plotlines and even some suspense, this doesn't happen in this movie. It is mostly a drama about grief and how hard it is to manage when it appears unannounced.  

In the end, the movie provides enough info for the viewer to know what happened to the husband, but the causes behind this are unknown. Which is why I think the conversation with the mother in law and the first minutes of the films are important to completely understand the main point of the plot.

#### The best
* The movie shows the viewer what it is like to live with a pain so deep that it disturbs the perception of what is real and what is imaginary.
* The main actress gave a good performance but nothing too special neither. 

#### The worst
* Not as intriguing or exciting about other films with similar topics, such as Images from 1972.
* Too slow and not rewarding enough.
