SCHOOL FOR PARENTS: How to deal with the tantrums of children. # 2
<strong><em>Consider why children become hysterical, how parents treat them, and in which cases the child needs medical attention.</em></strong>

<h2>How to deal with childhood hysteria.</h2>
Over time, you will learn to calm the child and control his mood. But even if you still do not know how to do it, we recommend that you use these recommendations.
<div class="pull-right"><img src="https://steemitimages.com/640x0/http://es.babyhometherapy.com/12_nevroz-navyazchivyx-dvizhenij-u-detej.jpeg" /><br/><center><a title="This link will take you away from steemit.com" href="http://es.babyhometherapy.com/nevroz-navyazchivyx-dvizhenij-u-detej_default.htm" rel="noopener">Source</a></center></div>
<h3>1. Do not pay attention to the tantrum.</h3>
Try to distract yourself with something so as not to react in a rough way to the situation. But this will not work in situations where a child causes physical harm to himself or falls into hysteria precisely because he does not pay attention to it.
<h3>2. Keep calm.</h3>
If a child's tantrum occurs at home, it should remain quiet. This will require a lot of effort and patience from you. If the child becomes hysterical in a public place, move him away from there. Offer several options where you can go. Having an option sooner or later will calm the child.
<h3>3. Do not allow child violence.</h3>
If a child screams or scatters, stop immediately. Let him know that violence is unacceptable. But, first of all, make sure you do not show aggression. If a child misbehaves, you can deprive him of certain privileges. Therefore, the child will understand that he loves him, but his behavior is unacceptable.
<h3>4. Try to understand the child's reaction.</h3>
When he communicates with you, he tries to understand what he means. Ask some clarifying questions to make it easier for you to express your thoughts. That will calm him down.
<h3>5. Do not keep the child in tears.</h3>
<div class="pull-right"><img src="https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://t1.pb.ltmcdn.com/es/posts/3/1/8/tipos_de_neurosis_infantil_3813_600.jpg" /><br/><center><a title="This link will take you away from steemit.com" href="https://www.psicologia-online.com/tipos-de-neurosis-infantil-3813.html" rel="noopener">Source</a></center></div>
Of course, it is difficult for parents to see a child cry. But do not keep the child from tears. Crying releases stress hormone cortisol. When the child cries, he will have a good mood again.
<h3>6. Do not overdo it.</h3>
Do not force your child to hold back constantly, whether at home or on the street. Even if a child becomes hysterical, this does not mean that he will also behave on the street. The child should know that the house is a place where he can express his feelings without any embarrassment. Support the child in this.
<h3>7. Excuse me if you are too violent.</h3>
If you have lost your composure, say something like: "I'm sorry." The child must understand that everyone is wrong, and this is normal if it does not happen too often.
<h3>8. Be hard.</h3>
Your apologies do not mean that you have accepted all of the child's requirements. If he asks for something you can not give him, be firm. Let him know that if he says no, he will not change his decision.
<h3>9. Communicate with the child.</h3>
Hysterical child does not mean he is trying to manipulate you. In fact, the child can accept his rejection, and his hysteria is a reaction to such a situation. Therefore, do not judge a child and stay away from him because of his behavior. Connect with him, that will weaken his tension.
<h3>10. Give the child an option.</h3>
Offer several options and offer to choose the one you like the most. Offer options for meals, the games you will play with him, and the activities he can do. So the child will be sure that it is considered, and not ignored.
<h3>11. Praise the child's good behavior.</h3>
When you see that you support certain actions, the child will understand what you expect from him. Probably repeat this behavior again.
<blockquote>By showing patience, you can deal with the tantrums of children in most cases. But what if tantrums become too strong?
</blockquote>
<h2>What are the strong tantrums?</h2>
If the hysteria in a child becomes too intense, they can indicate health problems. For example, psychologists point out possible mental disorders:

<center><img src="https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaC1XSCE6U5R3G7WXfSaxsCtASQYQsU5zyywZVutwsGww/image.png" /><br/>
<a title="This link will take you away from steemit.com" href="https://autismodiario.org/2011/12/03/berrinches-rabietas-y-perdidas-del-control-manejo-emocional-en-ninos-con-autismo-%E2%80%93-parte-iii/" rel="noopener">Source</a></center>1.Experts say that hysteria in healthy children is shorter and less aggressive than in children with depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, causing opposition disorder, etc.

Studies have shown that hysteria in a healthy child can last 10 to 11 minutes, while in children with various disorders, the average is 25 minutes.

2.According to the research, children's tantrums are an early symptom of a challenging opposition disorder.

3.Other studies have shown that children who are often hysterical have a higher level of anxiety in the future than their peers.
<blockquote>You may encounter difficulties in dealing with childhood tantrums. In the most serious cases, you will need the help of a specialist.
</blockquote>
<h2>When to see a doctor</h2>
<h4>It is worth contacting a specialist if the child has the following symptoms:</h4>
<div class="pull-right"><img src="https://steemitimages.com/640x0/http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ife2BHPibq8/VI8GA_-8lNI/AAAAAAAAPNo/vkhbciJlBvg/s1600/hiperactivo.jpg" /><br/><center><a title="This link will take you away from steemit.com" href="http://childspsycho.blogspot.com/2014/12/trastorno-por-deficit-de-atencion-con.html" rel="noopener">Source</a></center></div>
<ul>
 <li>during a fit of hysteria, the child is cruel to the parents or the objects that surround it;</li>
 <li>the child hurts himself specifically: he scratches himself, bites himself, hits his head against the wall, etc .;</li>
 <li>a child's hysteria lasts more than 25 minutes or occurs more than five times a day;</li>
 <li>even when a fit of hysteria passes, the child still can not calm down;</li>
 <li>To calm the child, you need to bribe him every time.</li>
</ul>
<strong><em>If you notice that your child has any of these symptoms, consult your doctor. Remember that hysteria, like other disorders of the child's behavior, is quite normal. However, you should pay more attention to your child. If the child uses hysteria to express his emotions, he must be patient: this period will soon pass...</em></strong>
