Well, it started so well. 9 wins out of 14 games but I have not won a single contest since. 

Since I have been powering up all of my posts 100% I haven't had the chance to buy a booster pack that would at least give me the chance of acquiring some better monsters. I should be getting some SBD soon to help with this. 

Anyway, in the Ranked battle mode the higher you climb up the ladder the stronger your opponents get. That would explain why despite winning most of my early matches I started getting matched with players who had leveled up cards and simply got hammered out of the park. 

Consider leveling up your cards using SBD or Steem in the Market or buying new booster packs and taking the gamble on getting strong monsters. 

So, what do you do when you are on a losing Streak?

## Stop the bleeding.

***If you are not on Steem Monsters, you do not lose Steem or SBD or even Steem Power when you play the game.***

Now that we have that out of the way, the only thing you lose is points in the rankings. When you start losing consistently stop playing a bit and restrategize.

The top battles segment is absolutely amazing. See what the top players are doing in their battles and learn from their strategies. Look at the cards that they favor to give you an idea of how you should stack your monsters for battle.

## Upgrade your monsters

If you stick with your current starter pack deck you will hit a wall where you are suddenly losing battles regularly. That is because the people that you are matching up with are upgrading theirs giving them the upper hand.

After watching the top battles segment you will have an idea on the best cards to hold and that will give you a bit of confidence when you go into the market to buy or upgrade a particular monster. 

## Finally, know your monsters.

The monsters are your friends. Get to know their strengths and weaknesses, their abilities most of all, and generally on **how to play the game**.

If you are like me, throwing away the 'how to' manual into the trash bin will not help you here. Make sure to read up on what all those symbols on the cards mean. Also, learn in which order to arrange your monsters. For example, some monsters with range abilities can only attack from the second row. That means if you put them in the first row they will just be dead weight. They will not be able to attack the enemy monsters and they will just take damage.
