Everybody Thinks They Can Do It Better!
The world is full of great ideas!

The world is also full of *not* so great ideas... in fact, the latter tends to outnumber the former by a pretty wide margin.

That said, pretty much *everyone* with an idea — regardless of merit — operate in the firm belief that *"if only things were done MY way, everything would become SO much BETTER!"*

Of course, the *truth* tends to be a little different because most of us suffer from a kind of *"cognitive myopia"* that prevents is from examining our ideas in an objective light.

In most cases, the *(unspoken and unexamined)* inner truth we all carry is that our ideas would make the world, a situation, our lives *(or whatever)* a better place *FOR US,* but it tends to broadly disregard the *reality* that pretty much every person on the planet has their own way of thinking about things, and *"How They Should Be."*

There was an elderly gentleman I used to spend some time with when I was a teenager; he was retired businessman who was just *enjoying life* and like to pass along his takeaways from lots and lots of experience.

One of the *"truisms"* he shared me with — I must have been about 16, at the time — was this:

>***"When the Lion kills the Zebra, it's GOOD for the Lion, but BAD for the Zebra."***

Of course, most of our life decisions are not as extreme as the world of Lions and Zebras, *however*, what we think is ideal for *us* is often *not at all* what someone else is looking for.

Hence, we tend to end up with so many *"great divides"* in life, in every area from politics to religion to even how to run a blockchain community.

The true *challenge* is simply *recognizing* that *"our way"* may not at *all* be the be-all-end-all answer we believe it to be.

For example, you are reading these *original* musings and words of mine because my reason for being part of a social content site — ANY social content site — is that I enjoy sharing ideas in writing, and I enjoy the social connections with a global audience.

But I also recognize that those are just *MY OWN* objectives, and they likely have little bearing on what *everyone else* is hoping to accomplish or get out of their participation.

Thing is, we're all different in our approaches... and I have *MY* idea, but no pretense that it is *THE* idea!

Thanks for reading!

***What do YOU think?*** *Are your ideas "the best," or do you simply see them as "ideas?" Comments, feedback and other interaction is invited and welcomed! Because — after all — SOCIAL content is about interacting, right? Leave a comment-- share your experiences-- be part of the conversation!*
