Reason becomes powerless in the face of their religiosity. Most of the Muslims in these countries when sufficiently influenced by these clerics, are willing to forgo foreign money or any foreign influence in return for a what is perceived as a move towards being more Islamic. A progressive leader who is pro democratic and pro development could get trounced in an election and replaced with even a cleric as a leader abruptly. These clerics usually have a disdain for anything foreign and non-Islamic. Foreign investors have to contend with this additional risk factor when investing in Muslim majority democratic nations. ","category":"Business"}" |
